A.D. Rhine needed to set up an automated system that would encourage readers of their books to sign up for their email newsletter. I wrote the emails and website copy in the authors’ warm, relatable voice to build a relationship of authenticity with their readers. This project resulted in two opt-in landing pages and one exit pop-up for website visitors, along with two free lead magnets readers could download in exchange for joining the authors’ Book Club (aka, an “email newsletter”… not pitched as a boring email newsletter).

I also created automated welcome emails that deliver the lead magnets and introduce readers to the authors. This nurture sequence establishes a direct relationship that isn’t dependent on social media algorithms, encourages open rates and engagement with the authors’ monthly newsletter, and increases book sales.

Thanks to this marketing system, the debut authors’ email list grew from 0 to 700+ targeted subscribers in under 6 months, and their emails have between a 35-62% open rate (the industry average is around 21%).
